The Return of the King | 1955, an excellent first edition, first impression.

An excellent first edition of Tolkien’s The Return of the King, the third and final volume of The Lord of the Rings, following The Fellowship. This is a particularly strong example of a title that is rather hard to find in collectible condition. This is the best currently on the market.

Description and condition:

First edition, first impression. 8vo. Original publishers red cloth in near fine to fine condition. The red top stain is vibrant, which is seldom the case. The original dustjacket is excellent and presents beautifully on the shelf. Internally, the book is fresh with no foxing. The map to the rear of the book is in fine condition. No dropped text or number 4 to page 49.
