Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With the original dust jacket designed by Trevor Denning. A near-fine example, the jacket modestly age-toned with a small stain to the bottom right and minor chipping and nicks to the extremities.

Francis’s first mystery novel, marking the beginning of his celebrated career in crime fiction. Exceedingly scarce signed, particularly so close to publication.
