The Jungle Book & The Second Jungle Book | 1894 - 1895, rare first edition set.

So, so hard to find in collectible condition these days, both these first edition examples of The Jungle Books are simply superb with the iconic blue bindings in sharp, near-fine condition. Internally both are fresh and come profusely illustrated throughout by Kipling's father John Lockwood Kipling (some good pub trivia to know that.... )
These two books are certainly some of my favourite first editions to encounter. The gilt elephants and snakes alone are just wonderful!
Description and Condition:
First edition, first impressions, two vols, original publishers blue cloth decorated and lettered in gilt with all edges gilt, minor wear to the edges but as the pictures show, both are in exemplary condition. Previous ownership name and inscription in each vol. Illustrated throughout. Fresh examples internally, minor spotting here and there. A near-fine set.
Published by Macmillan, London, 1894-95.
