The rare first photoplay edition of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, published to coincide with the iconic 1931 universal movie with Boris Karloff as the titular monster.

This particular example is the finest that I have come across and has the all too the rare dustjacket, here in near-fine condition. A remarkable survivor, as most copies are rather tattered, the DJ is frequently cited as one of the great jacket designs of all time.

Description and Condition:

First edition thus, first photoplay edition. Original publishers red cloth in near-fine to fine condition. The boards and spine are still deep red with no sunning and no defects to mention. The green top stain is as fresh as the day the book was published. Internally the book is fresh, with crisp pages. A pretty much fine example. All eight photo illustrations are accounted for and each is in fine condition. The dustjacket is easily the best on the market with the colours incredibly vibrant. This is a near perfect copy.
