Dracula | 1897, first edition, Graham Greenes' copy, signed by Greene.

£35,000.00 GBP

From the personal collection of Graham Greene

This incredibly rare 1897 edition of Dracula is a unique first edition with a prestigious past, having been owned by writer Graham Greene, the author of Brighton Rock, with his ink inscription on the front free endpaper. This is a particularly well-preserved example of the first edition of the iconic vampire story and with such literary provenance, one of a kind.

First edition, Graham Greene's copy with his ink ownership inscription to front free endpaper, "The Shoulder of Shasta" issue, endpapers a little spotted, original yellow cloth, lettered in red, slight shelf-lean, spine slightly darkened, slight bumping and minor fraying to spine tips and corners, a bright and excellent copy, preserved in custom morocco-backed drop-back box. An extraordinarily rare first edition.

Published by Archibald Constable & Co., Westminster, 1897.
