Ian Fleming – Dr. No (First Edition, First Impression, 1958)

First edition, first impression of Ian Fleming’s Dr. No, the first book in the legendary James Bond series. This copy is in the first state, with the binding lacking the Honeychile silhouette, a key point of distinction for collectors. A very attractive example, particularly rare in such excellent condition and with the original dust jacket.

Despite being the fifth title, this was the first to be made into a film and is the start of one of the greatest cinematic franchies. Dr. NO really is the start of Bond-mania and for many collectors this is the book they seek above all else. This first edition of Dr. No is a rarity in such a well-preserved state.

Details:

  • Octavo. Original black boards with titles in silver to the spine.
  • With the original dust jacket, which shows some light wear, including small nicks to the corners, mild rubbing to the edges, and light toning to the verso.
  • An excellent copy overall, with the dust jacket in notably good condition for its age.
