Oscar Wilde – The Works (First Collected Edition, 1908-22)

London: Methuen & Co., 1908-1922. First collected edition of Wilde’s works, limited to 1,000 sets on handmade paper. The texts are primarily drawn from the final editions supervised by the author. The volume The Picture of Dorian Gray is printed with the Paris imprint of Charles Carrington, as the copyright was held by him.

"In some cases, the volumes contain additional matter not previously reprinted, while some of the volumes present material published here for the first time" (Mason, p. 459 ff.).

14 volumes, octavo (209 x 144 mm). Attractively bound in recent green morocco, with spines lettered and decorated in gilt, single rule to boards in gilt, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Occasional minor blemishes, but an excellent set overall.
